Feb 11, 2018 · It'll either be a 6xx system boiler or a 4xx heat only boiler. I'd personally go for the heat only with an external expansion vessel kit and external pump, running as a sealed system. These parts are then cheaper and easier to replace than with a system boiler.

Oct 27, 2009 · The magnetic filter will take out a lot of the sludge. After installing the filter, run boiler for an hour on the lowest temp. If a combi use the DHW on the lowest DHW temp for 5 mins. Flush out the filter, it should accumulate a lot of iron. Keep doing it until clean. Then flush it out after every week until only clean water is seen.

On Ideal combi boilers simply check that the hot water temperature is turned up on the front, then check that the isolation valve underneath the boiler on the cold mains pipe is vertical/open.
